The Get Creative Family Arts Festival is a national festival of arts events for families. This year’s Festival will take place throughout October at venues up and down the country. You can be part of it simply by listing your event on the website and by using the Festival logo in your marketing.

The Festival, which spans the autumn half-term holiday, is a major focal point for the Family Arts Campaign, who conduct extensive annual marketing and PR activity promoting the Festival’s events and organisers to targeted family audiences. The Festival has been running since 2013 and has so far included 13, 000 events by over 1, 700 organisations, engaging 1.7 million family members across the UK.

Now’s your chance to organise something special that would be just right for a family audience!

What to do next:

  1. Plan your family arts event – .
  2. Upload your event listing to – listings upload opens from early April but you can register now by adding your organisation details.
  3. Promote your event as part of the Festival – we’ll launch our marketing campaign once Festival listings go live in early June.

Whatever event you organise as part of this year’s Festival, we want to hear from you as soon as possible so that we can include it in our marketing and press campaign. Awards

You could win for all your hard work – we give away 15 awards each year to celebrate the outstanding arts events organised by theatres, orchestras, museums, galleries, community groups and performers across the country. You’ll need to show us that you used Festival branding in your marketing materials to be eligible for an award, so when you start planning your event marketing.

BBC Get Creative

2015 saw the start of our fantastic partnership with BBC Arts’ Get Creative campaign and we’re pleased to be continuing as the Get Creative Family Arts Festival. This means that the Festival’s marketing campaign will have a special focus on participatory events that enable families to Get Creative.

If you’d like to become more involved in the BBC’s Get Creative campaign you can, submit stories to, and list your creative events on listings service.
