Hamilton County’s “Bravest” added a little heat to a special Octoberfest event to help raise money for a project dear to their hearts.

The Brockway Public House along Old Meridian Street in Carmel was the hot spot Saturday as firefighters from Hamilton County were on hand signing copies of their 2016 calendar.

Proceeds from the calendar go to raise money for a $250, 000 statue that honors 3 Hamilton County firefighters who lost their lives on the job.

The calendar features firefighters from Carmel, Fishers, Noblesville, Westfield and Zionsville.

Firefighters and their host said this was a fun way to raise money for a very special tribute.

“We wanted to give back them this year. We love this event. It’s a great way to bring people together and give back to Carmel, especially those who take care of us, ” said Jen Dickman from the Brockway Public House.

“It’s been fun. We’re just having a good time with it. You know, at the fire house, there’s a lot of poking fun, but it’s a good. It’s for a good cause, ” said Noblesville Firefighter and Paramedic John “Mr. February” Huseman.
