Celebrate the Lunar New Year 2016 with the always popular Tet Festival at Melbourne Showgrounds on the weekend of the 16th and 17th of January 2016!

This vibrant family-friendly event is hosted by the Vietnamese Community in Victoria and attracts over 40, 000 guests annually!

All are welcome to come along and enjoy the many festivities, including great live entertainment, cultural exhibits, bustling stalls, amusement rides and games, dragon dances, children's activities, and spectacular fireworks!

One particular festival highlight is the exciting showcase of local entertainers and Vietnamese Pop Stars from America Asia Entertainment, including Huỳnh Phi Tiễn and Ngoc Anh Vi.

There will also be an array of delicious traditional foods to sample all day; you'll be sure to find all your favourites, plus new enticing sweet and savoury dishes!

The festival will run from 12pm to 11pm on Saturday 16th and 10am to 11pm on Sunday 17th of January 2016.

To celebrate the new year, all entry tickets will go into a draw to win prizes including 2 x Apple TV 32 GB and 2 x Hitachi 65' Full HD LED Smart TV Series 6100!*

Tickets are priced $6 pp (children under 10 years receive FREE entry). Tickets will be available at the gate (cash only).

Free parking is available onsite and the event is disability friendly.

Public transport options include:

  • Bus: No. 472 (Williamstown to Moonee Ponds) stops along Langs Road or Bus No. Bus No. 404 (Footscray to Moonee Ponds) stops on the corner of Epsom and Ascot Vale Roads.
  • Tram: Route 57 (West Maribyrnong to Elizabeth Street, City), stops at stop 32 (Showgrounds Village Shopping Centre on Epsom Road). Please note that the previously serviced stop 33 is no longer in use. Please listen to onboard announcements or check with your tram driver.
