Self-diagnosed with Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) I am really looking forward to the long summer nights, partying hard at the music festivals and getting that all over Belfast tan that Barra Best promised me.
This summer we have been graced with some top music festivals with both local and international artists jetting in to perform at the seasonal gigs, so today I bring to you my top five music festivals that I CANNOT WAIT to attend:
#5 SunflowerFest July 31 - August 2 - Tubby’s Farm, Hillsborough
SunflowerFest is an excitingly different and magical weekend-festival of great music, arts and entertainment. Famous for nurturing the mind, body and soul through a wide range of superb live music, fantastic fun for the family and performances in the Enchanted Glade, storytelling, poetry, and interactive art, dance and music workshops.
Tickets are available from Visit Belfast Welcome Centre in person and by calling 028 9024 6609
#4 Stendhal Festival of Art 2015 August 7 and 8 - Ballymully Cottage Farm, Limavady
Stendhal Festival of Art has announced that the award winning, all-encompassing music and arts extravaganza will celebrate its fifth anniversary at Ballymully Cottage Farm, Limavady, on August 7 and 8, 2015.
Since its inception in 2011 Stendhal has been likened to a fairy tale come to life, called the coolest event of the summer and named Ireland’s Best Small Festival at the Irish Festival Awards.
In 2014, the event enjoyed its most successful year to date as over 4, 000 visitors revelled in all that was on offer, including Frightened Rabbit, Paddy Casey and The Undertones, to name the smallest of slices of the Stendhal pie.
#3 Van Morrison - Live on Cyprus Avenue August 31 – Sold out
The closing event of the Eastside Arts Festival and a truly unique experience not to be missed by fans of 'Van the Man'. Cyprus Avenue is associated across the world with Van Morrison's song of the same name.
