ARTFRONT/ WATERFRONT: Artists Explore the Staten Island North Shore
SITE-ATIONS International Project
June 30, 2002 – January 2003 at The Newhouse Center for Contemporary Art, Snug Harbor Cultural Center, Staten Island, NYC.

Working with a coalition of community groups and cultural organizations, The Artists Project in collaboration with Snug Harbor Cultural Center, A Casa/At Home Int, The Council on the Arts & Humanities for Staten Island and Vanguard Visions, has developed a project to explore the distinctive character, profile and stories of a variety of locations along the North shoreline of Staten Island, NYC – their dynamism and inherent beauty.
The exhibition comprises of thirty three visual and performing arts projects by local, regional, and international artists in the Newhouse Galleries and at public locations that stretch from Faber Park at the foot of the Bayonne Bridge to the Verrazano Bridge, including Snug Harbor, the Stadium esplanade, the Staten Island Ferry Terminal, the Light House Museum plaza, the Staten Island Institute of Arts and Sciences, the Alice Austin House, and Fort Wadsworth. Each site offers access to the waterfront with astoundingly diverse views and experiences of the Kill van Kull, New York Harbor and the Verrazano Narrows.
